The association needs the attention of the government

They ask what has been happening to their money over the years

Silent sports wants relevance in Nigeria Watch video:

President of the deaf sports association in Nigeria Ahmed Nahuche has called on the federal government to come to their aid as the sports have been neglected by the sports ministry.

“Silent sports or deaf sports has been heavily discriminated upon because we dont get much attention, often we get programs and nobody bothered to attend to us because we are deaf,” Ahmed told sports in Abuja.

“we are able and can do whatever others can except we cannot hear only, we have won a lot of honours for Nigeria and we are not encouraged,”

“I fund them myself with my money, we won three medals three times but NSC did not do anything yet,” He added.

Meanwhile, despite Nigeria’s early exit from the CHAN 2016 tournament, coach Sunday Oliseh says he has seen another home-based star who will be joining the main team.

The core of Oliseh’s home-based stars include the likes of Paul Onobi, Stephen Aggreh, Ikechuckwu Ezenwa and Chima Akas.

Another star could be called up when the squad list for the AFCON 2017 qualifiers double header with Egypt is revealed.

“From CHAN, it is no secret that Ifeanyi Mathew was our best and most consistent player there. Personally, he is one of the players I am looking at for the Super Eagles,” Oliseh was quoted
